Pastor Michael Ventrello and Family

Pastor Michael Ventrello was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to missionary parents. He received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a child on October 20, 1978 and as a teen committed his life to the Lord for full time Christian service. The Lord called him to ministry with the verse “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me” (Isaiah 6:8). Michael felt led by God to train for the ministry and stepped out on faith to attend Bob Jones University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Theology. It was at Bob Jones University that Michael met is wife Ruth. They were married in 1995.

A year later, in May of 1996, they left the United States to serve as missionaries in Glasgow, Scotland. There he was an assistant pastor of Queen Street Baptist Church in Renfrew, Scotland. In 2001, they felt led to move to England where Ruth taught high school and Michael got involved with the ministry of a local Baptist Church. He served Salem Baptist Church in Ramsey, England as a deacon, treasurer and lay Preacher. God had called him to help in this small local church as well as to serve Him through preaching in smaller churches in surrounding villages that could not afford a pastor. In 2007, Michael was called to a ministry in Gunsan, South Korea. He served the Lord there as an associate Pastor in the bilingual ministry of Haven Baptist Church as well as teaching Bible and English as a second language in a local Christian school. A year later, in 2008, Ruth became ill needing surgery, so they had to return to the United States for her health care.

While back in the United States, Michael was approached by Source of Light Ministries and asked to become a full time missionary in their printing ministry in Madison, Georgia. They arrived in Madison, Georgia in the summer of 2008 and later that year Michael was asked to be interim pastor at Bethany Baptist Church. He served as interim for nine months while continuing to be a full time missionary with Source of Light Ministries. At Source of Light, he was able to use printing experience that he gained on the mission field to update their multilingual discipleship courses to modern digital printing processes.

In September of 2011, Bethany Baptist Church called Pastor Ventrello to be their Pastor. Since that time, He has been faithfully serving the Lord at Bethany while also being a missionary with Source of Light Ministries.
